THE RESIDENCES AT BULLE ROCK HOSTS HARD HAT PREVIEW TOUR OF COMMUNITY CENTER
HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (Oct. 12, 2006) − This afternoon, The Residences at Bulle Rock offered the first glimpse of its 37,000-square-foot Community Center, designed to be the social and recreational centerpiece of the resort-style community being built around the five-star Bulle Rock Golf Course.
Developers Manekin, LLC, Clark Turner and H&S Properties Development Corporation hosted a hard hat preview tour with Havre de Grace Mayor John Correri and Harford County Office of Economic Development Director James Richardson and other distinguished guests.
Last October, Columbia-based Manekin Construction broke ground on the Community Center, which is now under roof. It currently features siding, stonework, flooring and windows. Interior work will occur during the winter and completion is scheduled for May 2007. Baltimore-based Gaudreau Inc. is the architect and Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc. of Florida is the decorator.
While the facility is modeled after European hotels, its décor is inspired by local environmental elements and breathtaking views of the Chesapeake Bay, which will be visible throughout. The overall theme is casual elegance and comfort to enhance the year-round resort lifestyle offered at The Residences at Bulle Rock.
UPPER LEVEL
Upon entry, residents will step into a foyer featuring creamy travertine stone floors and coffered ceilings.
A niche inset into the wall will contain an inviting, terra cotta buckskin settee with linen pillows. The conservatory will feature feminine terra cotta, ice blue and taupe hues, while the library will feature masculine chocolate and sage coloring. Decorated in masculine chocolate, terra cotta, sage and rust tones, the billiards room will feature a built-in bar and built-in seating areas with tables.
In crème and taupe colors, the ballroom will house a variety of functions including dances, meetings, crafts sessions, lectures, movies and major televised sporting events, and other fun activities arranged by the Community Center’s full-time lifestyle director. A cyber café on the bayside will enable “wi-fi,” with laptop hookups by wood tables and upholstered chairs.
The gardenlike solarium will feature a slate floor and raffia accents for an outdoorsy feel. Meeting rooms will include tables that can be grouped into a large conference table or separated into private discussion areas. Residents also can mingle in the card room or the lounge, which will offer comfortable seating and a fireplace.
Decorated in terra cotta, chocolate and ice blue tones, the rotunda will feature a dome ceiling and a detailed wood floor. This living room setting will offer a comfortable seating area overlooking dramatic views of the bay. A grand staircase will lead to the lower level and outside to the putting green, bocce and tennis courts and pool. Based on feedback, the pool recently was enlarged and deck space was tripled.
LOWER LEVEL
A professionally-managed cardiovascular health and fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment will occupy the first floor. The space also will comprise an exercise studio, equipment room, sauna, steam room and golf training room, as well as an indoor pool, massage rooms, spa area and juice bar. Recently, the fitness area was expanded to provide more space for yoga, Pilates and aerobics.
SOCIALIZATION
The Community Center will serve as the main gathering spot at The Residences at Bulle Rock, but residents already are demonstrating their preference for all things social and recreational. So far, they have mingled in the hospitality suite at the McDonald’s LPGA Championship held at the Bulle Rock Golf Course, and attended several “Get-To-Know-Your-Neighbors” dances, happy hours, theme dinners and parties also held at the golf course. October’s social calendar includes a “Decorating Room to Room” presentation, a Halloween costume dinner dance and a Sail Time presentation.
In addition to the events, The Residences at Bulle Rock also formed the following clubs which currently meet at the Welcome Center or the golf course: “Mommies and Me,” “Walkies & Talkies,” Wine Tasting Club, Book Club, Scrapbooking Group and a Nine-hole Mixed Golf League. Plans call for forming a singles group, cards and games groups, Chess Club and “Grandmommies Club.”
“We have sold about 460 homes and settled 280. What we discovered is that our residents are active and fun people who want to be involved in this community and everything it has to offer,” said Kathy Harper, Welcome Center manager and lifestyle director for The Residences at Bulle Rock. “We can’t wait for the Community Center to open so we can offer more fun activities and provide a permanent gathering spot for our residents.”
THE COMMUNITY
With the slogan, “Life Imitates Vacation,” The Residences at Bulle Rock is being developed less than one mile from I-95, between Baltimore and Wilmington, De. Upon completion, the gated community will comprise approximately 2,000 condos, villas and single-family homes built by Clark Turner, D.R. Horton, NVHomes, Ryan Homes and Ryland Homes (and Bozzuto Homes coming soon). All homes will feature first-floor owners’ suites, open floorplans, vaulted ceiling, garages and additional amenities for luxury living.
