Press Release
THE
RESIDENCES AT BULLE ROCK BREAKS GROUND ON COMMUNITY
CENTER
HAVRE
DE GRACE, Md. (Oct. 27, 2005) -
The Residences at Bulle Rock broke
ground on a 37,000-square-foot Community Center,
designed to be the social and recreational
centerpiece of the resort-style community.
“Our
research and feedback from visitors and buyers
indicates that lifestyle is the top factor in
their home buying decision,” said
Brenda Desjardins, a spokeswoman for the community. “We
have designed The Residences at Bulle Rock
to include a deluxe Community Center and many
additional amenities so our residents can live
like they are on vacation every day.”
Although
the Community Center is modeled after European
hotels, its décor is inspired
by local environmental elements and breathtaking
views of the Chesapeake Bay, which will be visible
throughout. The overall theme is casual
elegance and comfort to enhance the year-round
resort lifestyle offered at the Residences at
Bulle Rock, which is being built around the
five-star Bulle Rock Golf Course: home to the
McDonald’s LPGA Championship.
UPPER LEVEL
Upon entry, residents will step into
a foyer featuring creamy travertine stone floors
and coffered ceilings. A niche inset into the
wall will contain an inviting, terra cotta
buckskin settee with linen pillows. The
conservatory will feature feminine terra cotta,
ice blue and taupe hues, while the library
will feature masculine chocolate and sage coloring. The
billiards room also will include masculine
chocolate, terra cotta, sage and rust tones.
In crème and taupe colors, the ballroom
will house a variety of functions including dances,
meetings, crafts sessions, lectures, movies and
major televised sporting events, and other fun
activities arranged by the Community Center’s
full-time lifestyle director. A cyber café on
the bayside will enable “wi-fi,” with
laptop hookups by wood tables and upholstered
chairs.
The gardenlike solarium will
feature a built-in bar, and built-in seating
areas with tables. A
slate floor and raffia accents will contribute
to an outdoorsy feel. Meeting rooms will
include tables that can be grouped into a large
conference table or separated into private discussion
areas. Residents also can mingle in the
men’s and women’s card rooms or grab
a bite in the café.
Decorated in terra cotta, chocolate and ice
blue tones, the rotunda will feature a dome ceiling
and a detailed wood floor. This living
room setting will offer a comfortable seating
area overlooking dramatic views of the bay. A
grand staircase will lead to the lower level
and outside to the putting green, bocce and tennis
courts and pool.
LOWER LEVEL
A professionally-managed cardiovascular
health and fitness center with state-of-the-art
equipment will occupy the ground floor. The
space will comprise an aerobics studio, equipment
room, sauna, steam room and golf training room.
When residents finish working up a sweat, they
can soak in the indoor pool, relax in the massage
rooms, rejuvenate in the day spa or quench their
thirst in the juice bar. Residents will
have 24-hour access to the fitness center, so
they can work out whenever they want.
Marc-Michaels Interior Design, Inc.
of Florida is the decorator, while the Baltimore-based GaudreauInc.
is the architect and the Columbia-based Manekin
Construction is the general contractor. Completion
is scheduled for early 2007.
