THE RESIDENCES AT BULLE ROCK HONORED BY
SUSQUEHANNA HOSE COMPANY
HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (May 7, 2008) - The Residences at Bulle Rock was presented with a Community Service Award at the Susquehanna Hose Company’s recent 2008 Installation and Awards Banquet at the Old Community Center in Havre de Grace.
Before an audience of over 300 firefighters and their families, as well as numerous local, county and state officials, the resort-style community was recognized for fundraising efforts at the 1st Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot.
On Thanksgiving morning 2007, approximately 200 runners and walkers in all age groups and fitness levels participated in the 5K walk/run from to the five-star Bulle Rock Golf Course (Maryland’s #1 public golf course and home of the McDonald’s LPGA Championship) and back to The Residences at Bulle Rock.
The event raised $14,400, which was used to purchase new emergency equipment for The City of Havre de Grace and the Susquehanna Hose Company.
The City of Havre de Grace received three Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to place at City Hall, the City Wastewater Treatment Plant and the City Water Treatment Plant. AEDs are portable automatic devices used to restore normal heart rhythm to patients in cardiac arrest. Because cardiac arrest is a sudden condition that is fatal if not treated within a few minutes, AEDs are life-saving devices.
The Susquehanna Hose Company received two hydraulic rams to assist with pulling and pushing such items as door jambs, window frames and dashboards during emergency situations.
“We greatly appreciate the support of the new Bulle Rock community,” said Susquehanna Hose Company Chief C. Scott Hurst. “Their donations helped the Susquehanna Hose Company continue to have the tools and equipment it needs to serve the City of Havre de Grace.”
“It was our pleasure to host our first ever on-site fundraising event,” said Brenda Desjardins, a spokeswoman for The Residences at Bulle Rock. ”We were thrilled at the community’s participation, which ultimately will help protect the lives and properties where we live and work.”
“We look forward to funding even more equipment through proceeds raised from the 2nd Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot to occur Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, 2008,” Desjardins added.
With the slogan, “Life Imitates Vacation,” The Residences at Bulle Rock is under development by Manekin, LLC, Clark Turner and H&S Properties Development Corporation. Upon completion, the gated community will comprise approximately 2,200 single-family, villa and condominium homes built by Clark Turner Signature Homes, D.R. Horton, NVHomes, Ryan Homes and Ryland Homes. All homes will feature first-floor owners’ suites, open floorplans, vaulted ceiling, garages and additional amenities for luxury living.
The community’s social and recreational centerpiece is the 37,000-square-foot Residents’ Club, which features indoor and outdoor pools, a cardiovascular health and wellness center, tennis and bocce courts, a cyber café and much more. For more information, call 410-939-8700 or visit
